Why switch?

Cloud
Bank accounts are not all the same – and our banking needs change with time. Here are
some things to consider.

Manage your money

Are there branches nearby with opening hours that work for you?

Does the bank have an app that helps you stay in tune with your spending?

How's their customer service? Look at online reviews regarding their advice and support.

Rewards & perks

Do they offer cash rewards for switching to their bank?

Do they offer any cashback when you spend?

Are there any regular perks like cinema tickets, tastecards, travel cards and money off at your favourite stores?

Better rates

What are their overdraft fees?

How do their savings interest rates compare?

Compare bank service levels

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) publishes independent
data that enables people to compare banks' service levels.

Annually, an independent survey polls 1,000 customers from Great Britain's 16 largest account providers and 500 customers from Northern Ireland's 11 top providers, asking if they'd recommend their bank to friends and family.

You choose your
switch date

You can choose and agree a switch date with your new bank or building society. Just make sure you allow seven working days for the switch to take place and that your chosen date isn't a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday.

You can switch with
an overdraft

You will need to agree any overdraft facilities you require with your new bank or building society. Alternatively, they may be able to provide lending facilities to help you pay off your existing overdraft.
